Here is a brief, yet the helpful description of popular entrance exams that a candidate can take to get admitted in top Management Institutes in the southern part of the country.
Common Aptitude Test is a National Level computer-based management entrance exam test
organized by Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) every year. The CAT score is accepted by many reputed management schools across the country and obviously by the 20 IIMs.
Every year, around 2 Lac students appear in the CAT exam competing for the 4000 seats particularly in IIMs and in 100s of other Government and Private colleges.
The application fee is Rs. 1800(while Rs. 900 for reserved category). CAT is conducted generally in November every year.
Kerala KMAT- Kerala Management Aptitude Test is conducted by the University of Kerala every year supervised by the Admission Supervisory Committee and Fee Regulatory Committee for
Professional Colleges of Kerala. The KMAT score is used by many colleges in Kerala to intake admissions.
The speciality of Kerala University is that it offers an MBA with various choices like Full Time/Evening/Part-time which makes KMAT even more popular.
The KMAT exam pattern is similar to the CAT pattern which includes Quantitative Aptitude,
English Language, Data Sufficiency, and Logical Reasoning.

TANCET-Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is conducted by Anna University,
Chennai on behalf of Government of Tamil Nadu for admission to various PG courses like MBA, MTech, MArch, etc.
TANCET can be applied online, the application fee is Rs. 500 for General (Rs. 250 for
reserved category candidates)
Students must have a bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/10+2+4/10+3+3) in any discipline with at least 50% marks.
TANCET registrations open in the last week of January every year and close by last week of February.
TANCET exam is a pen paper-based test and consists of 100 questions from different sections to check candidates’ ability in 5 sections on Data analysis; Data sufficiency; Reading Comprehension; Quantitative Aptitude; General English.
APICET- APICET Exam 2018-19 is a state-level MBA and MCA entrance examination conducted for admission to colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
APICET is conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State
Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).
Based on the scores seats are allotted.
The ICET is conducted in the month of May (In 2017, it was conducted on May 2) while the registration commences during February.
Only the residents of Andhra Pradesh can take the exam. Students must have a bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/10+2+4/10+3+3) in any discipline with at least 50% marks. (45% for SC/ST) AIPCET application form is available online only. Registration fee is Rs. 507.50 (including processing fee).
Candidates are provided 150 minutes to solve 200 questions. One can expect questions from sections like Analytical Ability, Mathematical Ability, and Communication Ability.
TSICET- TSICET Exam 2018-19- is a written test, conducted for admission into MBA and MCA courses (full time/part-time/evening/distance mode) of all universities in the state of Telangana and their affiliated colleges.
To be eligible for TSICET-
I) Candidate must be an Indian Citizen.
II) Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/10+2+4/10+3+3) in any discipline with at least 50% marks. (45% for SC/ST)
III) Qualifying marks in TSICET is 25% (No minimum marks are prescribed for SC/ST
Students can apply for TISCET through online mode only after completing the one time
The online application fee is Rs. 350 for general category candidates (while Rs. 250 for reserved category candidates)
