Gionee Elife S5.1 has been launched in India at a Price of Rs 18,999/-. It’s The Slimmest Phone to be available in India as of now.

If you have got a thing for slim phones, Elife S5.1 is the second slimmer phone by Gionee, first one was Elife S5.5, both belong to different segments.

Gionee S5.1 has a metallic frame and glass body and donning a 5.1mm thickness, the smartphone emanates sexiness and style and is the perfect accomplice for the chic urban crowd.

It packs a 4.8″ AMOLED display of 1280 * 720 pixels resolution and runs on the 1.7GHz Octa Core processor supported by1GB of RAM together with 16GB of built-in storage for documents. The handset runs Android 4.4 with Gionee’s Amigo 2.0 UI. Other features include an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, 16GB non-expandable storage, and 2050 mAh battery (Specs mentioned below)

Speaking about the launch of Gionee Elife S5.1, Mr. Arvind Vohra, India Head, Gionee Smartphones said,

“From the very onset of our entry in India, every step and move we have made is towards making a difference for our consumers. Gionee has been creating benchmarks for itself in various aspects and believes in giving the consumers better than the best.  After the phenomenal success of the Gionee Elife S5.5, we are happy to launch the extremely elegant and stylish Gionee Elife S5.1. The smartphone is a manifest of our in-depth R&D, design expertise and manufacturing ability.

The phone will appeal to those who love to own a smartphone that looks good and performs well. Gionee S5.1 is very light and sleek (it’s just 5.1mm thin if you didn’t know).

Looking at the current trend in the market, every other manufacturer is trying to build the slimmest phone in the world, we have got iPhone 6 (6.9m), iPhone 6 Plus (7.1mm), Gionee S5.5 (5.5mm)

And the recently launched R5 by Oppo with a thickness of 4.85mm. We have reviewed the Gionee S5.5 and found it be a great phone, but, we still believe that mobile needs more innovations than simply keeping the phones slimmer every year.
