Gionee ELife S7

Gionee Launched their third phones in the S series of their Elife Phones, the Elife S7, which is an upgrade to their last year’s Gionee Elife S5.5 and they have decided to upgrade the price as well, as the Elife 7 will be available ar Rs 24,999/-

If we talk about the specs, it’s pretty much the same with some changes of the design and software part as Elife S7 runs on Android 5.0 with their custom skin Amigo 3.0. The Phone’s RAM (2GB), Internal Memory (16GB), Back Camera (13MP) and Front Camera (8MP) and the thickness (5.5mm) remains at same, while the screen is now 5.2 inch.

The Good thing is that they have decided to improve the existing things rather than giving yet another hardware upgrade. For example, Gionee has worked on the Camera of Elife S7 to make it faster and better. They sound quality has been improved, in fact, Gionee claims they have managed to put Hi-Fi Quality Sound as well, but we will have to actually use it to believe.

The user interface has been optimized and the S7 features a unique extreme mode, which automatically enables 10% of remaining battery power to potentially last for 33 hours 45 minutes standby time by freezing functions except calling and text messages to ensure basic communications, but we still have to use the phone to believe it as Gionee S5.5 was terrible in the power management department.

Holding in hands, it looks and feels like a nicely done smartphone which you can show off and people might give you a second look.

Having said that, you are getting an improved version of S5.5 at a price of Rs 24,999 which I think is bit too high to ask, considering Elife S5.5 is now available at Rs 18,200 on Flipkart and it may also get the Android 5.0 with Amigo 3.0 in a few months.
