Huawei has just launched the Honor 8X in India which is the successor to the Honor 7X. It’s a great smartphone belonging to the mid-range segment.

We have another smartphone from RealMe, the Realme 2 Pro which too was launched a few days ago making the competition in the mid-range even stiffer.

So, in this article, we are going to compare these two mid-range Android smartphones for making it easier for you to pick.

Let’s talk about the design

The Honor 8X has got a glass sandwich design while the RealMe 2 Pro has got a glass-like polycarbonate, but, even then the RealMe 2 Pro is quite a beautiful looking smartphone.

On the front side, the difference between these two phones is their Notch. The Realme 2 Pro has got the Teardrop Notch while the Honor 8X has Bathtub type of Notch.

Apart from that, the bezels on both are smartphones are thinner.

And if you talk about the back, the RealMe 2 Pro has got dual camera setup placed horizontally along with LED flash while on the Honor 8X it is placed vertically on the left-hand side.

The Honor 8X comes with a 6.5 inch full HD plus IPS LCD with the resolution of 1080X 2340 pixels.

The RealMe 2 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a 6.3 inch full HD plus display with a resolution similar to off the Honor 8X.

Let’s talk about the camera

Both the smart phones are equipped with a dual camera setup on the back. The Honor 8X comes with a 20 megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 2 megapixel camera for capturing depth information for Portrait and Bokeh effect shots.

There is a 16MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture on the front of the Honor 8X smartphone

Real MI 2 Pro comes with a 16-megapixel primary sensor with a f/1.7 lens attached to a while the secondary camera is 2-MP depth sensor similar to the Honor 8X.

Talking about the selfie camera, it has too, got a 16-MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture similar to the Honor 8X

Let’s talk about specifications

Both the smartphones make use of the different chipset makers, the Honor 8X has got their proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 710 and the RealMe 2 comes with Snapdragon 660.

For the GPU the Honor 8X has got Mali G51 MP4 GPU while the RealMe 2 Pro has got Adreno 512 GPU.

And if you have to talk about the RAM and Storage options for the smartphones, both the RealMe 2 Pro and Honor 8X offer 4 GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage for the same pricing of Rs 14999.

The other higher variant has got 6GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage priced at Rs 16,999/-.

Talking about battery, the Honor 8X comes with 3750mAh battery where as the RealMe 2 Pro comes with a slightly smaller 3500mAh battery.

There is no fast charger support on either of the devices.

Both, the Honor 8X and RealMe 2 Pro are powered by Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with their own custom UI over the top of it.

The Honor 8X comes with EMUI 8.2 on top of Android while the RealMe 2 Pro comes with Colour OS 5.2 OS.

Both the custom UI from the smartphones try to mimic the iOS look and feel and offer some unique features that are on the top of stock Android, so it may come as a personal preference as to which type of UI you like the most.

Since both the smartphones are priced quite equally, it is little tough to recommend one over the other, so the differentiator would be gear design as well as the custom UI since all the other features are pretty much similar.

And we should also remember the fact that Honor 8X is the newest smartphone among the two, which also brings a little larger battery.
