Difference Between the iPhone XS and iPhone X

Apple brought the next generation of iPhones a few days ago, and now we have got it iPhone XS in the market along with a larger iPhone XS Max.

And since Apple has stopped going further with iPhone 8S and iPhone 8S Plus, it seems they will be continuing with the iPhone X models from now on.

So, the question is, what exactly is the difference between the iPhone XS from the previous years, iPhone X

New iPhones Are Out, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR

The short answer would be, Apple just brought updated specifications without changing the design, which they do every alternate year. They have been doing ever since the Inception of iPhones.

Now let’s see what is exactly different in the iPhone XS when it comes to specification.

Firstly, and more importantly that the Apple A12 Bionic chipset which has been placed in the newer version as compared to the Apple A11 Bionic chipset in the previous years’ version.

When it comes to the exteriors of the smartphones, it’s pretty much similar, from the dimensions to the screen size, to the aspect ratio, to the resolution.

In fact, you wouldn’t really make out the difference if you see them both at the same time.

Maybe you will get to know about the iPhone XS when you hold it in your hand along with the iPhone X on the other hand because the iPhone XS is 3 grams heavier than the previous when although it is not that noticeable.

About the storage, they both start with 64 Storage and go up to 256 GB along with 3GB of RAM.

The Dual Setup camera on both the smartphones is exactly the same, with 12 MP + 12 MP, the primary sensor having f/1.8 aperture while the Secondary one with f/2.4 aperture.

Both the smartphones have the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) feature. And both the smartphone have got a 7-megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture.

You can shoot 4K videos from the primary camera in 24/30/60fps while full HD recording can go up to 240fps, and the front camera is on iPhone XS is capable of recording full HD videos at 60fps in comparison to 30fps on iPhone X.

The sadness continues since this one also does not support 3.5 mm jack there is no slot for it.

The Bionic Chip A12 on the iPhone XS makes face unlock a little faster than the previous one, so there is a noticeable difference between two smartphones when it comes to face unlocking.

Apart from face unlocking and there is a new colour which is Gold available for the iPhone XS

So, if you want people to know that you have got the new iPhone XS then you might want to go with the gold variant.

Like the previous year, this year’s iPhone XS starts at $999.

So specification, why is there is definitely some improvement in the iPhone XS, to highlight here, are the key differences.

  • A12 Bionic Chipset
  • A New Gold Color
  • Dual SIM Support (with eSIM)
  • Will last few minutes extra
  • iOS 12

If you are assuming that the price of the last year’s iPhone X will be slashed to make it somewhat affordable, the sad news is, Apple will not be selling the last year iPhone X, however, you will still be able to buy the iPhone 8 or 8 Plus if you want to.

Since Apple did not bring a lot of improvement to the iPhone X, they did bring a larger variant of the same smartphone which has got a 6.5-inch screen with everything almost similar to one iPhone X offers.

But they that is going to cost a little bit extra, as the iPhone XS Max starts at $1099

However there is a rather affordable version that Apple is making available soon, it’s iPhone XR, which gets its design since from the iPhone XS but has got a single camera set up along with some other compromises, there is a cheap variant as it starts at $749.

So, this is it, this is the difference between this year’s iPhone XS from the last year’s iPhone X

The iPhone X, if it is available in stocks, might be running on sale for the next few days, until the stocks are there. So, if you can get your hands on them, you might purchase if the deal is good, because, there isn’t very much in the newer version.
