So Xiaomi released the MIUI 9 along with the launch of their new Selfie centric series of Xiaomi Redmi Y1, which started selling on Amazon.in from November 8.

The Redmi Y1 was the first phone to run on the MIUI 9 while other waited in line to get the rollout, which is now finally happening.

A Friend with a Redmi Note 4 just got the MIUI 9 rolled out to their smartphone. And reports are coming that Mi Max 2 is also getting the MIUI 9.

Xiaomi had announced that these devices will be getting the MIUI 9 update ASAP and then phones like Mi Max, Redmi 4 and other people launched last year or an ear earlier, will be getting the update soon. So, I am still waiting for the update for my Mi Max.

What’s new in the MIUI 9

Xiaomi made claims that the MIUI 9 brings a lot of referring upgrades to their phones, and will be as fast as the Stock Android OS.

I asked my friend about how fast it feels to use the MIUI 9 and he said he can feel the difference in the performance, which means Xiaomi has really worked on the performance part. I’ll still have to get my hands on it to give my review of the MIUI 9.

The MIUI 9 brings the popular and most awaited Split Screen Feature on Xiaomi Devices, we write a post on how to enable Split Screen Feature in MIUI 8 even without the MIUI 9 if you have got the MIUI 8.2 or above update in your phone.

But since the Split Screen Feature in MIUI 9 is an inbuilt feature, you won’t have to install a third-party app to trigger it, in fact, I find the option to use the Split Screen feature quite easy.

List of Phones that will be getting the MIUI 9 Update

The Android is known for it’s OS Fragmentation, it’s only the devices launched in last 1 or 2 years that manage to get the latest update from Google. MIUI being the custom ROM, would be available for a good number of devices, even the one from 2012.

That’s what Xiaomi has promised, here is a full list of phones who will eventually get the MIUI 9.
