Personally, I feel these are three of the most attractive smartphones that have been launched lately when it comes to offering more At less price.
But still, there is a bit of a price difference in these smartphones. So it is fair to compare these smartphones to see which of them offers more features for the price you are going to pay for it.
Let’s talk about the Price and Availability.
The Poco F1 starts at Rs 21,000/- for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, while for Rs 25,000-., you get the 6 GB RAM with 128 GB of internal storage.
There is a higher variant as well with 256 GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM, but you will have to pay Rs 10,000/- more than the base variant.
Asus Zenfone 5Z has also got different storage options and the basic one starts at a steep price of Rs 29999. The base variant has 6 GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
128 GB storage option retails for Rs 33000, and the 256 GB option details at Rs 37000.
And the smartphone is Online exclusive to Flipkart.
While talking about the Honor Play, the base variant is available at Rs 20000/-, having 4 GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
But there is also an expandable storage option, so you can use a MicroSD card to expand the storage by up to 128 GB without having to pay for the higher storage variant.
Let’s talk about the design.
The Poco F1 has a 6.18 inch of screen with 1080×2246 full HD plus resolution, the screen is IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9.
The smartphone has an average built quality of a mid-range smartphone, Xioami has used Polycarbonate material for building it.
Honor Play, on the other hand, features a 6.3 inch LCD with 1080×2340 full HD Plus resolution with an Aspect Ratio of 19.5:9.
The Smartphone has beautifully built using the Metal and has a different design from other counterparts. Definitely gets the highest score in terms of the design.
Asus Zenfone 5Z is a 6.2-inch smartphone with 2246×1080 Full HD resolution, the screen is super IPS+. The Phone screen has an aspect ratio of 19:9.
The smartphone has a metal belt with an interesting back panel. This Smartphone deserves a lot of praise which we will do in the performance section, but for now, it is a solid build smartphone, and probably the flagship killer with almost every feature you would want in a smartphone.
Interestingly, all the three smartphones come with a Notch display, not a fan of Notches here but for me, the Honor Play notch is less annoying. though it can be turned off on all of them.
Let’s talk about the Camera
Interestingly, all the smartphones are following the current trend of dual camera setup. The Poco F1 features a dual camera setup which includes a 12MP + 5MP Sensor.
The 12 MP sensor has dual-pixel autofocus and a 1.4-micrometre pixel sensor for detailed images in different kind of lighting conditions.
There is also a powerful 20MP camera on the front for taking selfies. If you’re keen on shooting videos with this smartphone, it has Electronic Image Stabilization capability to stabilize your video footage to some extent.
Talking about the Honor Play, the smartphone features a dual camera setup of 16MP + 2MP sensors, and there is a front camera with the 16MP single sensor.
Huawei has put some AI into the camera to make it work better under different conditions. Also, the smartphone has Electronic Image Stabilization and another kind of stabilization which has to do something with the AI, and it is called AIS.
Talking about the Zenfone 5Z it has a dual camera setup of 12MP + 8MP, the 12 MP is a Sony IMS 363 sensor with f / 1.8 aperture.
There is also an 8-megapixel front camera. With f/2.0 aperture.
The smartphone has both Optical Image Stabilization as well as Electronic Image Stabilization for the primary camera and the front camera also get Electronic Image Stabilization support, which makes it pretty nice device for taking selfie videos or vlogs.
Let’s talk about hardware and specifications
The Zenfone 5Z and Poco F1 are powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset which is the highest level chipset in the market, and it is probably the reason why they are being compared in the first place.
Honor Play comes in the second place with its own Kirin 970 Octa-Core processor which is clocked at 2.4Ghz.
The Poco F1 has the support of Quick Charge 3.0, which is great since the huge 4000mAh battery would take a while to charge.
There is no such Quick Charge capability available on Honor Play and Zenfone 5Z which have got 3750mAh and 3300mAh battery respectively.
All the three smartphones are powered by Android 8 Oreo, with a taste of their own custom skins.
The Poco F1 has a customised MIUI over the top of Android 8.1,
Honour Play has EMUI 8.2 on top of Android 8.1, while the
Zenfone 5Z has ASUS ZenUI 5.0 on top of Android 8.0
Rest of the other things are pretty much similar in all the three devices, or maybe even if they are different they do not qualify as a deciding factor for buying a smartphone.
So, you will now have to make a decision, based on what your preferences are.
If it’s the most powerful smartphone you are looking for, which is also the cheapest, then its Poco F1, but if you are also looking for a well built a smartphone with good design and a better camera it could be Honor Play.
And if you can spend a few extra bucks, the Asus Zenfone 5Z at Rs 29,999/- gives you the most features, especially the powerful processor with good design.
