Last year, the Xioami Mi 6X (in China) was launched as Xiaomi Mi A2 globally.

And this time around, Xiaomi might do the same, perhaps rebrand some other smartphone model from China, most probably Mi 8 lite.

Although not much has been unveiled at this point of time, one thing is certain that the camera performance is going to be improved from the previous generations, and this too is going to be powered by stock Android, probably Android Pie.

Mi 9

The next generation of Xioami’s flagship smartphone, the Mi Series, will be launched.

The Xiaomi MI 8 was highly inspired by iPhone X, for which Xiaomi was criticized heavily, we just hope that Xioami will bring something different this year and not just a blatant copy of Apple once again.

Poco F2

Xiaomi started a new segment of Smartphones with the Poco series, we call it budget flagships, where the smartphones are powered by the highest processor available in the market at very competitive prices.

Yami is said to be repeating the story once again with the next generation of the poker series the Poco F2.

The Poco F2 who will most probably be powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset (although not confirmed) and would also be bringing the phone with a waterdrop notch.

Apart from the water drop not there is nothing promising to be made available as far as the design of the smartphone is concerned.

It will be more of an incremental update with an update on the specifications of the smartphone. The exciting thing would be, at what price the Poco F2 would be available in the market.

Redmi 7

Last year in 2018, Xioami decided to separate the Redmi as a sub-brand of the company.

And the smartphone from the series has already been launched in the form of Redmi 7.

The design of the Redmi series has been refreshed, and it looks quite sleek with glass back and thin bezels.

The waterdrop notch and the dual camera set up has finally made its way to the Redmi series as well with Redmi 7 launch.

Redmi 7A

The yearly upgrade to the Redmi A series is also on its way in 2019. The smartphone series has reached the 7th generation with Redmi 7A launch.

The smartphone is usually priced under $100, brings the design which is the same as the Redmi series smartphone of the current year, Redmi 7 for this year perhaps.

Although, we cannot expect a dual camera setup and waterdrop notch on this model, let’s be optimistic, since the competition has become tougher with the entry of Realme smartphones in this segment.

Redmi Go

Redmi Go is Xioami’s Ultra budget smartphone, which has already launched in China and might soon be available globally as well.

The smartphone is quite handy with a screen size of 5 inch which is an HD display.

Thankfully it was received required well by the fans and now, now Xioami is going to bring the fourth generation of this Smartphone in 2019 (well, 5th if we include Mi Mix 2S as well).

Although quite a lot of leaves have started surfacing on the internet, nothing concrete has been reported by any of the tech websites.

In 2018, Xiaomi was able to achieve a completely bezel-less display, thanks to the magnetic slider mechanism, we are not sure if Mi Mix 4 is going to be any different from it.

Maybe it could bring the foldable technology into this series, but Xioami shared a video that went viral and looks completely different smartphone, which we will talk about in the next section.

The Foldable Phone from Xiaomi

By the end of 2018, Xioami released a video that went viral.

It showcased a foldable smartphone from all the sides. And hopefully, we will see the company launching it by the end of 2019.

Check out the video below

Apart from Xioami, two other companies, Samsung and Huawei have showcased their foldable smartphones, which would be launched later in the year.

The interesting thing is, the two companies that showcased their foldable smartphones, have also and be the expected price of their smartphones which comes out roughly as $2,000, which is quite a heavy amount for a smartphone.

Although not much about the phone has been shared from Xioami, it is likely that the foldable smartphone from Xiaomi would cost just half the price of what the other two companies are asking for.

Meaning, it could be well in a range of $900 to $1200.

Folding smartphone can be the next big thing about smartphones since they would allow the users to have a full tablet experience when they open a 5-6 inch smartphone and turn it into a 10-inch tablet.

These are some of the upcoming smartphones from the Army that will be launching in 2019. We are certain that Xiaomi is going to check off its to-do list for the year 2019, and perhaps brings more surprise launches in the coming months.
