The recently launched Poco F1 smartphone from Xiaomi has created a wave in the smartphone market in India.
Prior to its launch, Oneplus was called the flagship killer, but with the launch of the Poco F1, it seems that we have a new flagship killer in town.
Or maybe not.
Whether the Poco F1 is a flagship Killer or not, is a debatable statement, so we will keep it for another post. But, people love are comparing the Poco F1 with OnePlus 6, which was launched a few months ago, to know which one is better to purchase right now.
Let’s talk about the design
Talking about the design, Oneplus 6 is definitely a better smartphone than Poco F1.
The only similarity between the two phones is their size which is almost identical, but if you compare them side-by-side there is a huge difference, and the OnePlus 6 is a clear winner.
The difference becomes even broader and when we talk about the build quality. The OnePlus 6 has a Metal built with an OLED screen, while the Poco F1 has a Polycarbonate built within LCD screen.
Not to mention the huge Notch, which looks pretty ugly on the Poco F1. Both the phones provide the option to turning it off by blackening the sides of the Notch.
It is done perfectly on OLED screen of OnePlus 6, but it isn’t much use on Poco F1 as the notch is still noticeable on the LCD screen.
Let’s talk about the Performance
If we have to talk about just the performance of the smartphones, both the smartphones have to be on a tie, since both the smartphones have got the similar specifications, powered by the same Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is the highest level Snapdragon chipset available as of now.
“Both powered by Snapdragon 845 Chipset”
Even in the storage options, both the smartphones offer 6GB Ram and 64GB of internal storage option as their base models. There are also higher storage options available for both the smartphone.
By looking at the specifications of the Poco F1, it is obvious that Xioami is directly trying to compete with OnePlus 6 by offering its smartphone for a far better deal.
Sadly, it isn’t the case, there is more to Oneplus 6 than a Snapdragon 845 chipset. And we are going to talk about it in detail after we talk about the camera.
Let’s talk about this camera.
The camera is on mobile phones, especially in the higher segment, is quite an important factor in making a buying decision.
Specification wise, both are smartphones offer a higher megapixel front camera and dual camera setup at the back. But the difference is in the features and the processing of the photos.
OnePlus has worked a lot on proving its phone as a flagship competitive when it comes to camera performance, it wants itself in the league of the iPhones and the Samsung Galaxy S series.
And with the absence of optical image stabilization in the Poco F1 camera, OnePlus 6 wins in the camera department.
But, if you are not planning to shoot videos your camera phone, and can be happy with just a few selfies and photos here and there to share on the social media, then the difference between the two smartphones’ camera performance does not matter that much as much as the price of the smartphones.
Let’s talk about the price
Price is where the Pocophone F1 gets the highest score. It’s the first smartphone under Rs 25000 to use a higher level of Snapdragon 800 series chipset.
The base variant is available at Rs 21000 and it is a great deal.
OnePlus 6, on the other hand, retails at Rs 35000 (Rs 34990 to be exact). So there is a price difference of Rs 14000 between the two phones having almost similar specifications and powered by the same chipset.
Suddenly, comparing the two smartphones on the basis of dear design and camera performance doesn’t make sense.
The Poco F1 is a great smartphone if you do not care about the design and will be using a case to cover up the body.
So, the choice is easy, but the harder part is to order it since it is going to be available in Xioami’s Flash Sale, which happens on a weekly basis and the stocks run out in a fraction of seconds.
For this just one reason, you can opt for the OnePlus 6 or try ordering the Xiami Poco F1. Link to the listing is mentioned below.
