Xiaomi entered the already crowded Indian Smartphone with their Mi3 few months ago and they were able to do good number of sales, thanks to their much hyped flash sales and exclusive availability on Flipkart.
India is a market crazy for Bigger screen phones, almost every phone manufacturer offers a phablet. Xiaomi is going to join the bandwagon by launching the Redmi Note, which is already available in various markets.
The flash sales of Xiaomi Mi3 has been paused as of now and the company is focusing on the lower segment of mobile phones with their Redmi 1S which is also doing good number of sales, thanks to their marketing strategy of flash sales.
Though Redmi Note is available on eBay at Rs 12,600, it is imported from outside. So when the Redmi Note officially launches in India it will be somewhere between Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000.
Xiaomi’s Vice President for International Operations, Hugo Barra said in an Interview that the Redmi Note is expected to be launched by the December end of 2014 or early 2015..
Here is what he has to say about the launch date of Redmi Note in India.
“A date is not decided yet. Hopefully we will have devices ready to sell in the next two months. One reason for this delay is logistics – getting 1 lakh devices a week out of our factory into India is not the easiest thing in the world. For the big billion day we had to charter planes to get the stock delivered in India. Theses are things we have never done; we never had to charter a plane. The second thing is that I really want to have the software build ready for India.”
Looking at the current pattern of how Xiaomi has been selling their phones, Mi 4 is also going to be exclusively sold on Flipkart in their flash sales on Tuesdays.
