How to Install the Google Camera Mod App on Redmi Note 4 with HDR+ and DSLR Blur

In this article, we are going to talk about how you can install the Google Camera Mod on Redmi Note 4.

But before we do that let’s talk about why would you install Google camera mod on your phone.

The Redmi Note 4 does come with a better camera in comparison to its previous versions, but it’s not good enough. Even though the sensors that are being used in the camera are from Sony, the problem lies with its processing.

On the other hand, the Google Camera Mod app, which has been ported from the Google Pixel Smartphone, offers better photo processing which results in amazing photos, it is the camera app that makes Pixel phone unique and something that can compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy and the iPhone.

Though you may not get the photos from your redmi Note 4 that can compare to the Pixel Phone photos, Using the Google camera Mod app.

But, if you compare the photos clicked from the Google camera Mod app and the Stock camera app of the Redmi Note 4, the difference will be visible.

Also,  the Google Camera Mod app offers that blur effect to the photos that are only seen on Dual Camera setups, the pixel smartphone made it possible on a single camera setup using its unique algorithm.

And the same algorithm works on any phone if the camera 2 API is enabled.

So, let’s see how you can install the Google camera Mod app on your Redmi Note 4.

As I said that the Google camera API needs to be enabled in order for the Google Camera Mod app to work on the phone.

There is no simple way to enable the Google camera API on Redmi Note 4, you would need to Root the Redmi Note 4, which is not a tough thing to do.

I am sure he would be aware of the consequences of rooting a device, such as you won’t be able to use banking apps on the phone because of the potential risk a rooted phone carries.

Check out this tutorial on how to Root Redmi Note 4 And come back to this guide.

Now, assuming that you have already rooted your Redmi Note 4 using the above guide, and you have the Magisk app installed.

To enable the camera2API on the phone, you will need to install the camera2API module within the Magisk app.

You can either go to the download area of the Magisk app and find the camera2API module to install, or you can simply download it from the link below and install it.

Download Camera2API Module

A reboot will be required for the module to work.

Once you have done that, you can download and install the following APK for the Google camera mod.

How to Root Xiaomi Redmi Note 4,  Redmi 4 or any other Xiaomi device

In this article, we are going to talk about how you can Root Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4 or any other  Xiaomi device.

But before we do that I want you to understand the potential risk a rooted device carries.

Your smartphone would be more prone to hacks since the access to the root or system files is granted. This is why banks restrict the installation of the apps on rooted devices,

Some might just warn you of the consequences,  while some might not let you use their services at all.

Also,  since you get access to the system files, you may accidentally delete some files that are required for the Android OS to run smoothly, resulting in your phone to become a piece of brick.

But, having said that,  if you are a little bit of tech savvy, you won’t be having any issues as such.

I would still like to take the time to put a disclaimer that Techtippr will not be responsible if any of the above things happen to you after following this guide.

Step 1: Unlock the Bootloader

Xiaomi has tightened the security of their smartphones by locking the bootloader, which keeps anyone from flashing a custom recovery,  which is something required for rooting the device.

So, you will need to have the bootloader unlocked, fortunately, you can request for the unlock code from Xiaomi but it requires a bit of patience since it might take a few days to get it.

You can head over to this webpage to request the unlock code,  simply fill up the form mentioning the reason why you want to unlock the bootloader.

You will get the bootloader unlock code in one or two days.  Once you get the code you will have to wait for at least 72 hours before unlocking the bootloader.

Once you are past that date,  you can download unlock tool and unlock the bootloader.

Step 2: Flash Custom Recovery

Now that the bootloader is unlocked,  it’s time to flash a custom recovery for your redmi Note 4,  you will have to pick the right custom recovery file for your phone since this guide is specifically for redmi Note 4. I will put the link below.

Download TWRP.img

You might have to change the name of the image file to TWRP dot image to simplify the use of commands we will be using it is to simplify the use of commands we will be using in this guide.

There are several methods to flash custom recovery but the one we would be using is probably the easiest and requires an additional software called Minimal ADB Fastboot.

Download Minimal ADB Fastboot

Once you have downloaded and installed minimal ADB, move the TWRP.img file to the minimal ADB folder in the program files,  the file path is mentioned below.

C:\Program Files\Minimal ADB Fastboot

Once you are done with that,  launch minimal ADB and Launch Minimal ADB Fastboot and type this command.
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

This picks up the recovery image and loaded to the phone.

Type this command. “fastboot boot twrp.img
(This will flash the twrp recovery image to the phone, might take few minutes)

The TWRP would be flashed to your Redmi Note 4.

Step 3: Root Redmi Note 4

Now, download the magisk.zip,  lazyflasher.zip is it file on your PC and transfer it to your mobile,  and flash the Magisk.zip from TWRP, and then the lazyflasher.zip, and then reboot the phone.

The first reboot takes a few minute and it will be rooted.

Install the ES explorer app if you haven’t already,  and enable root access.  which will also let you uninstall system apps and much more.

3 Best Apps to Record Your Screen on Android Smartphone.

0

There are many reasons why you might want to record your screen on your Android smartphone,  the number one reason that comes to my mind is,  to provide troubleshooting two family members who are not that much tech-savvy.

This is one of the reasons I use screen recorders to record my screen. Screen recorders are also useful when you are trying to show someone how to do something on the smartphone.

No matter what your reason is,  in this article I’m going to list out 3 of the best recording apps I have used on Android.

A Z Screen Recorder

This is the first recorder that I ever used on Android. It’s actually pretty easy to use,  you can simply install it from the Play Store and you don’t need your phone to be rooted.

Just give the app the permission to draw over other apps so that you can easily use it

The app is ad supported and there is also a pro version which gives few extra features like editing the screencast by cropping the portions and adding music to it.

Mobizen Screen Recorder

The Mobizen Screen Recorder is much more than just a screen recorder, it gives you the ability to add intros and outros to it, and also lets you record your screen in a horizontal format that means you can record your gameplay or anything exciting that you want to record.

DU Recorder

This is another recorder that I started using lately,  and Unlike the A to Z recorder it is an Ad-free recorder, which means you won’t see any ads in the app, also there is no In-app purchases.

The app is completely free to use,  by default there will be a watermark of the DU recorder,  but you cant remove it without having to pay for a pro version.

The app also lets you make and it’s to your screencasts which allows you to share only the portion of screencast you actually want to share.

Currently, I am using the to recorder on a daily basis because it pretty much serves the purpose,  and it is also not so heavy app.

One great thing I love about the DU recorder is that it also lets you Livestream your screencast to Facebook (Also to Pages) or YouTube.

How to Block a Phone Number in Android

Calls can be annoying especially when you are not expecting them,  fortunately, the Android smartphones offer a very easy solution for blocking a number.

In this article, I will show you how you can block any phone number on your Android mobile now because the Android OS has been customized for different smartphones the UI is a little different on  different smartphones

Block Any Number of Android without an app

Open the recent call log on your smartphone,

Tap on the number you want to block,

In Samsung smartphones, you will have to tap on the Details option,  which will open a specific page to show call history of that phone number and some other options.

On the top right-hand side, you will see 3 vertical dots,  you will have to tap on it and there you will find the option to block the number.

Block any phone number with are the Truecaller app

Here is an even smarter way to block phone numbers on Android and that is the Truecaller app.

Truecaller is actually an app that lets you know who is calling even if the number is not saved in your contact list.

The great thing about this app is it recognizes the spam calls, thanks to the inputs by several thousands of its users.

You can either block a particular number or block all spam calls so that you don’t have to waste your time on useless calls. We have actually written a very detailed article about the Truecaller app which you can read here.

So this is how you block a phone number on Android phones I hope you find this article useful you can read more articles on techtippr.com

How to Download an App that is not available in your country

0

If you are an Android user and you are living in a developing country like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc. then you might be aware that some of the apps are not available in these countries.

Because, it’s a usual practice that the apps would first be made available in the US and then will eventually be rolled out to other countries.

This has happened with so many apps,  so in this article, I am going to show you how you can install apps on your mobile phone even if it is not available in your country.

Now,  many of you would already be aware of the fact that Android allows you to install apps outside of the Play Store,  you can download the APK file of any app and sideload it on your smartphone.

It is disabled by default,  but you can enable it by going to the settings and finding the option of, “install apps from an unknown source”  you need to check the box and you are good to go.

Then go to APKMirror.com,  to download the apk file of the app. You can download the app from anywhere on the internet but APKMirror is the most trusted website when it comes to downloading APK files Look for the app and find the most updated version and then download it,

Note: Now, one thing to keep in mind is,  if the service itself is not available in your country you will not be able to  access the content inside the app,  such as Hulu app which is not available in countries outside of the US and even though if you install the apk on your smartphone you will not be able to access the content.

But apps like Reply from Google which is in its beta version and is not available everywhere,  you can still install the apk on your smartphone and start using it here is the link you can try it yourself.

How to enable Split Screen Feature on Redmi 4

0

A few weeks ago I wrote it tutorial about how to enable split screen feature on redmi Note 4 or MI Max.

Finally if you own a redmi 4, you too can enable split screen feature on your mobile phone. All you have to do is update your MIUI version.

The redmi 4 has been getting the MIUI 9 update over the air (OTA), if you still haven’t got the update

How to enable Split Screen Feature

You can enable auto update or download it manually by going to the about section from the settings and check for updates.

The update is over 1 GB in size, so make sure you have enough data available if you are using jio.

Once you have downloaded the update, make sure your phone is fully charged,

When the device has been upgraded, you will see the feature enabled.

How to use the feature

Tap on the recent button of your phone, you will see the split screen icon on the top left of the screen, when you tap on the button, you will be able to select two apps to run simultaneously.

You can switch the positioning of the apps or even resize the windows to your liking.

Now there are still some apps that do not support the split screen feature, such as the Instagram.

All in all the split screen feature lets you do more than one task at a time, such as watching a video on YouTube as well as chatting on WhatsApp. I hope you find the feature useful.

WhatsApp Payments Rolling Out in India | How to Enable & How it Works

The UPI based Payment system was a long-awaited feature in WhatsApp and it seems it has finally started rolling out.

For now, it’s being rolled out slowly and is on an invitation basis.

How to get WhatsApp Payments right now

Like I said, the WhatsApp payments feature is rolling out to select users in India right now. First, make sure you are running the latest version of the app. Open any WhatsApp chat and click on the Attachment pin on the right-hand side of the chat, see if you see the new Payment option appears. If you do, great, you now have access to WhatsApp’s UPI-based payments feature. If not, you will need someone who has already got the feature.

Simply ask them to try to make a payment to you, this will give them a pop-up asking them to tell the recipient to update their WhatsApp version. Once they tap on the popup, the Payment feature will be enabled for you as well.

How to add bank accounts for WhatsApp Payments

  • Go to Settings ➜ Payments inside WhatsApp.
  • In the Bank Accounts sub-head, select the Add New Account option.
  • Tap Accept and Continue if you agree to the terms.
  • Tap the Verify via SMS and follow the prompts to send an SMS to start the linking process.
  • On the next screen, select the bank whose account you want to add.
  • If you have an account (or multiple accounts) linked with the number that you just sent the SMS from, you will be presented with your account (or accounts) from that bank.
  • If everything goes smoothly, you will see the UPI Setup Complete screen.

You can also add multiple bank accounts to it and designate one of them as the primary account.

How to send money via WhatsApp Payments

The WhatsApp payment feature works only if the recipient has set up their bank account within WhatsApp

You can also send money to individual group members in a group chat, provided they have enabled the Payment option. Moreover, you cannot pay money to verified business accounts (such as BookMyShow or MakeMyTrip) because the service is only peer-to-peer (i.e. person to person).

How to send payments via WhatsApp:

  • Open the chat of the WhatsApp contact to whom you want to send money.
  • On Android, tap the Attach button. If you are on iPhone, select the Plus button.
  • To send money, just tap on Payment, and enter the amount you want to send. You can also add a note to the message if you want.
  • To authorize the payment, just enter the UPI PIN of the bank account from which you are trying to send money.
  • Once the money is sent, the amount (and the text note, if any) will show a message as part of the conversation.

What the Heck is Tor Browser? Should You Even Consider Using It?

I am sure you might already be aware of the Tor Browser and how to use it, and if you don’t, it is actually a browser that lets you browse the internet anonymously and also the dark web, which is the other side of the web that no one really talks about.

While I am not sure why would you use the Tor browser to browse the dark web, if you don’t want to indulge in illegal activities, let’s talk about its other features, that is, browsing the web anonymously.

Tor is short for The Onion Router (thus the logo) and was initially a worldwide network of servers developed with the U.S. Navy that enabled people to browse the internet anonymously. Now, it’s a non-profit organization whose main purpose is the research and development of online privacy tools.

Who is the Tor browser for?

If you are someone who wants to hide their identity while browsing the internet, like, if you are journalist in an oppressive country or a hacker who doesn’t want to get in the eye for the government, or maybe you are an activist who uses the internet to pass on sensitive information to bust a racket, the Tor browser can be useful.

Now, let’s talk about how it works and why it is called a secure browser so the activities we mentioned above.

The Tor uses several of its tor servers and encrypts your traffic so that it becomes tougher to track since it becomes tougher to trace it back to you.

In plain English, it is the Incognito mode on steroids.

How to use Tor?

You simply need to download and install the Tor browser just like you install any other software on your Computer. And then start using it.

Since the connection between you and the website is made after going through several serves, it makes browsing slower than you might experience in Google Chrome or any other browser.

So, its definitely not the fastest browser or a browser meant for participating in flash deals, it’s a nice secondary browser you might require when you are browsing something you don’t want to be associated with.

Is the Tor browser for you? the Normal Everday casual Browser?

Maybe not, if you are looking to browse a few websites anonymously, like, you don’t want them to be saved in history or you don’t want advertisers to retarget you by showing products related to your browsing, you can use the incognito mode of your browser.

The point here is to understand the difference between the Tor browser and the tor network.

The Tor browser is the window that lets you access the Tor network, which majority of us wouldn’t be interested in at all.

The Tor network or the Dark web is the universe of websites for various things. It’s a place for finding older versions of a software, maybe a rare book that has been wiped out from our Internet, it can be found in this other side of the web.

How to Post 360-Degree Photos on Facebook

0

If you are one of those 1 million people, who use Facebook on a daily basis, you might have seen the 360 photos that some people share on Facebook.

While there are special cameras for taking 360-degree photos and videos, Facebook has actually made it easier for anyone to share 360 photos on Facebook, and you don’t need a special camera for that, your smartphone camera is capable of doing that.

All you need is the official Facebook app,

Sharing a screenshot showing where you can find the option to post 360 photos on Facebook, but since Facebook keeps experimenting with their user interface I can’t guarantee how long this UI will be there, so I’ll just briefly tell you about where you can find the option.

So when you open the Facebook app, you have a text input field, it’s preoccupied with a phrase, “write something here…”, you need to ta on that

Once You tap on it, you will find all the tools available for posting a status message, scroll down to find more features, and at the bottom, you will find 360 photo feature.

When you tap on it, your camera will open, and you can take that 360-degree photo by revolving the camera around you, and not moving the camera up and down.

What Facebook actually does is, it takes a panoramic photo and stitches using its software to make it look like a 360-degree photo.

The processing requires a bit of time than usual,, but it’s not too long, maybe 5 seconds extra.

Tne thing to keep in mind while posting 360-degree photos, when you will be making a revolution, if there are any moving objects that come into your photos frame, then it might look like something you see Google Street View where you see half cars or half human, because they were moving when the photo was being taken.

So, for taking perfect 360-degree photos for Facebook, choose a place where there is less movement around you, that way the photos tend to look great.

Watch this screencast

So this is how you take 360-degree photos Facebook.

And yes, this feature is also available for pages as well.

BTW, the 360 Degree content feels more immersive in the VR boxes, and you can buy them for cheap, here is a good post about it.

What the Heck is GBWhatsApp? Should You Use it or Not

You may have heard about GB Whatsapp if you’ve ever tried looking for some cool things you can do without Whatsapp.

GB WhatsApp is actually a modded version of the WhatsApp app for Android phones and is used by a lot of people who want to get more out of the WhatsApp service, and want to do more than just forwarding Memes to their friends.

I know my GB WhatsApp introduction sounds way cooler than the WhatsApp itself.

But let me remind you it’s a modded version of WhatsApp.

Now, what does that mean?

It means that the APK file of WhatsApp has been modified by someone or a group of people so that it can do things that have been restricted in Whatsapp, such as,

Sharing Longer Videos.

WhatsApp lets people share videos that are 16mb in size or less. It’s actually a limitation of the app and making some changes to the app can bypass this 16 MB limit. So the GBWhatsApp lets you set your video limit and this is perhaps the most popular feature of GB WhatsApp.

Hide Last Seen, Read Receipts and even the ‘Typing’ indicator.

Now, the ‘Last Seen’ and Read Receipts are something that can be turned off from WhatsApp as well, but the typing message indicator can also be turned off.

Not even that, Gb WhatsApp would also let you show a certain time as ‘Last Seen’

Ability to Personalize WhatsApp

The Official WhatsApp app only lets you change the wallpapers in the chat messages or maybe set customized notifications for different contacts, but the GBWhatsApp takes personalization to the next level.

You can personalize every aspect of it, from the WhatsApp icon to the top ribbon to the fonts to how the chats would appear.

For a lot of people, the ability to personalize the WhatsApp is quite a big thing, because we have seen people loving any kind of facelift WhatsApp has got in the past.

So, if you are someone who cares how their WhatsApp should look, then you might want to try this app.

Run Two WhatsApp on One Smartphone

Now, there are quite a few tricks to do it, and we’ve already shared them on the blog. The GBWhatsApp also lets people run two different WhatsApps on a single smartphone.

This is possible because when you Install GBWhatsApp, it gets installed as a separate app and your WhatsApp remains installed. You can then use another number (maybe the 2nd number on your Dual SIM supported smartphone)

You can use, GBWhatsApp’s personalization feature to change the colour of the icon to differentiate between the two WhatsApp apps.

Note: Despite all these cool features GBWhatsApp offers, no one can deny the fact that modified apps will always have a security risk since some changes are made to the official APKs of the apps by people who are not authorized to do so.

It all depends on how much you trust the person (or the group of people) who is offering the Moded app.

This website comes as the first result and claims to be the official website for GB WhatsApp, take a look yourself

How to Post Longer Videos in WhatsApp Status

So you want to know how you can post videos on the WhatsApp Status that are longer than the 30 seconds?

Well, stick to this article as we talk about several ways you can do it.

When the WhatsApp Feature has launched a couple of months ago, there are was a lot of criticism all over the Internet.

But slowly, people got used to it and I know see almost 20% of the people in my WhatsApp contact list posting Statuses.

Watch the Video

Now, most people would agree that WhatsApp Status is a blatant rip off of Snapchat Stories done by Facebook.

It actually first introduced it to Instagram, and later to WhatsApp. Now the stories are everywhere on each of the Facebook’s product.

But the only difference in WhatsApp is if allows users to post videos that can be 30 seconds in length, whereas the video limit is just 15 seconds on other platforms.

But even the 30 seconds is not enough for the WhatsApp users.

And I kind of agree to it, the Status allows the WhatsApp users imply post stuff for their friends and family to watch without having to share it individually or in a group.

So, the deal is, how can we post longer videos and bypass the 30-second limit?

Well, there are three ways to do it, and we shall talk about them one by one.

Cut the Longer Video into multiple 30 Second Clips

This trick is actually used by a lot of people, you can either do it manually or use an app.

Doing it manually is also not tough because unlike others platforms, WhatsApp allows you to choose your 30 seconds from the longer video.

you can simply post first 30 seconds, then post the 30 to 60-second clip as a 2nd status and so on.

If you don’t want to spend the time to precisely cut the video, you can use an app called WhatsCut Pro+

The app is available in Plat Store and lets you easily cut longer videos into smaller 30-second clips. It simply automates the process and saves a bit of your time.

Convert the video to a GIF

The 30-second limit applies to only the videos, not on photos and GIFs.

While most of the GIFs you will find on the internet will be less than 30 seconds in length, but they are in fact, videos converted into moving pictures.

So you can very well convert a longer video into a GIF as one single file.

Though there are several apps to do it, you can use GIFSop app

But one thing here to notice is that it requires a bit of patience as converting a video into a GIF takes time and since the size of a GIF is going to be bigger, it will also take time to post it.

If you are using an Android phone which has a low processor, then your phone might lag or WhatsApp might crash.

Use WhatsApp GB to Post Longer Videos in WhatsApp Status

Now, this is the least recommended method, because of several reasons,

 a) you will need to use a Modded WhatsApp, which also raises security risks, and

b) whats longer videos will only be visible to people who use also using the WhatsApp GB.

Actually, posting longer videos as a Status is one of the features people use WhatsApp GB, there are several, but not all are mean for normal people who just want to use it as a tool of communication.

7 Clever Ways to Stay Private on WhatsApp Status (Without Anyone Knowing)

0

Meta Description:

Want to stay stealthy on WhatsApp? Learn how to hide your views from others’ WhatsApp Status with this simple yet powerful Read Receipts trick.

Introduction

In today’s hyper-connected world, privacy is everything. While WhatsApp is one of the most-used messaging apps worldwide, not everyone wants their every move tracked. If you’re someone who checks WhatsApp Status updates but doesn’t want people to know you’ve viewed them—there’s a built-in feature just for that. Let’s explore how you can browse WhatsApp statuses privately without letting others know.

WhatsApp Status: What It Is and Why Privacy Matters

WhatsApp Status lets users post updates that disappear after 24 hours. It’s a popular way to share photos, videos, and text with your contacts. But here’s the catch: every time you view someone’s status, your name appears on their viewer list. This small feature can be a huge breach of privacy for some people. Whether you’re avoiding awkward questions or just value anonymity, staying invisible can make a big difference.

How WhatsApp Status Works

When someone posts a status, it’s shared with their contacts based on privacy settings. If you view it, they can see that you’ve seen it—unless you take steps to remain unseen. Status updates are much like Instagram or Facebook Stories, offering temporary visibility and a list of viewers for each post.

What Are Read Receipts on WhatsApp?

Read Receipts are the small blue checkmarks that appear when someone has read your message. Introduced a few years ago, they’re great for keeping track of conversations—but they also let people know if you’re ignoring them. Turning them off hides the blue ticks and also disables the ability to see when others read your messages.

The Tradeoff of Disabling Read Receipts

Here’s the compromise: If you turn off Read Receipts, you won’t be able to see when others have read your messages either. It’s a two-way street. This also applies to WhatsApp Status views. You won’t show up in others’ viewer lists, but you also can’t see who viewed your status. For privacy-conscious users, it’s often a worthy trade.

How to Turn Off Read Receipts on WhatsApp

Want to go stealth mode? Here’s how to disable Read Receipts:

For Android:

  • Open WhatsApp

  • Tap the three-dot menu > Settings

  • Go to Privacy

  • Scroll down and toggle off Read Receipts

For iPhone:

  • Open WhatsApp

  • Go to Settings > Privacy

  • Turn off Read Receipts

This will stop others from knowing you’ve seen their messages or statuses.

Impact of Disabling Read Receipts on Messages

Once you disable Read Receipts:

  • You won’t see blue ticks in any chat.

  • Others won’t see blue ticks in your chats.

  • You can’t tell if someone has read your message.

  • Group chats aren’t affected—read receipts still work there.

Effect on WhatsApp Status Views

Turning off Read Receipts also hides your name from the Status viewer list. So, if you check someone’s Status, they won’t know you did. This gives you the freedom to browse updates silently—perfect for staying under the radar.

Benefits of Hiding Your WhatsApp Status Views

Here are a few reasons why users love this trick:

  • Avoid drama from exes or nosy relatives

  • Check on someone’s update without starting a conversation

  • Keep your viewing habits private

  • Retain more control over your own activity

Risks and Limitations

While going private has its perks, there are a few drawbacks:

  • You can’t see who viewed your status either

  • Blue ticks are disabled—so you lose that feedback loop

  • Some users might notice you’ve gone “dark” and question it

Still, if privacy is a priority, these trade-offs may be worth it.

How to Re-enable Read Receipts

If you ever change your mind:

  • Go back to Settings > Privacy

  • Toggle Read Receipts back on

  • Status view activity resumes as normal

It’s that simple.

Privacy Settings You Should Know

Beyond Read Receipts, WhatsApp offers other privacy features:

  • Last Seen & Online: Control who sees your activity

  • Profile Photo: Limit who can view your image

  • Status Privacy: Choose who sees your updates

Explore all options under Settings > Privacy for complete control.

Using Airplane Mode as a Trick

Want to see a Status without Read Receipts being off permanently? Try this:

  1. Open WhatsApp to let statuses load

  2. Switch your phone to Airplane Mode

  3. View the desired Status

  4. Close WhatsApp completely

  5. Turn off Airplane Mode

This prevents your view from being recorded—but only works if you’re quick!

Viewing Status Anonymously with File Browsers

Another method involves accessing the local files stored on your phone. Android users can:

  • Use a file manager

  • Navigate to WhatsApp > Media > .Statuses

  • View the images directly

Note: This works only for image statuses and is slightly technical.

Third-Party Apps: Are They Worth It?

There are apps that claim to let you view statuses anonymously, but:

  • Many violate WhatsApp’s terms of service

  • Some are riddled with malware

  • Your account could be banned

Stick with built-in privacy options. They’re safer and more reliable.

Alternatives to WhatsApp for Private Viewing

If stealth mode is essential, consider messaging apps like:

  • Signal: Open-source and privacy-focused

  • Telegram: Offers hidden message previews and advanced privacy tools

These apps give you more privacy than WhatsApp, though they may not be as widely used.

WhatsApp Status Privacy: Tips from Real Users

“I turned off Read Receipts a year ago and never looked back. I love being able to check statuses without people knowing!” — Priya, India

“I only turn it off when I want to check something discreetly. Then I switch it back on.” — James, UK

Everyone uses the feature differently, but one thing’s clear—it’s a game-changer.

WhatsApp Updates and Future Privacy Options

Meta, the company behind WhatsApp, is always updating privacy features. Future improvements may include:

  • Stealth mode options for all activity

  • Auto-expiring messages and statuses

  • Advanced view controls for Status updates

Keep your app updated to enjoy the latest tools.

The ‘Read Receipts’ option can be found under the Privacy section which can be found in the WhatsApp Account settings.

keep it at a place where anyone can walk and play the song of their liking without you having to worry about what the person is looking or digging into when he is checking your phone.

Use as an Alarm Clock

Now, it’s the basic function of Smartphones to have an Alarm clock, and it works pretty well.

But If you are someone who is concerned about the presence of radiation emitting device,

Use as an e-Reader

Using your old phone as a dedicated e-reader also has its own benefits, which are as follows

You can share it with others without having to worry about your Privacy. You don’t have to worry about draining your phone’s battery and you also get to use all the space on the Mobile for saving Books.

Use as a Remote Mouse

This one is a bit gimmicky, but works really well in case you really need a mouse for some precise cursor movements and you don’t have a mouse with you at the time.

Use as a Digital Photo Frame

If the screen of your old mobile phone is working well, it can work as a Digital Photo Frame.

You will find several apps on the Play Store for turning your phones into a Poto Frame by selecting few pictures and playing them as Screensavers.

Use it as DSLR Camera Monitor

This one can be pretty useful for people doing clicking photos or shooting videos one Camera that doesn’t have a flip out screen, or maybe they want to monitor it from fast away.

Use as a Kid Monitoring Device

This works really well, you can install some apps to turn it into an IP Camera, you can place it in other room, maybe in a Kid’s room and monitor from your own Smartphone.

Let Kids use it for Learning Purpose

This one is a bit debatable, whether to give your Kids a Smartphone or not. Many parents are against giving Smartphones to their kids, but what I believe is, it can be an amazing learning device if used properly.

A dedicated Smartphone for Kids can mean you can control the contents of the device, and you may not have to go through all the process of making your Mobile Kids Safe.

Just install the learning apps on it and Uninstall/disable the rest of them. Give them the phone for a limited period of time.

So these are some really clever uses of your Old Smartphones, I think you will value your old Smartphones more and not sell it off at a dirt cheap price.

Stay Away from the PayTM Scams on Instagram, WhatsApp and other Social Platforms

Want to know how to gain thousands of followers on Instagram? Simply Buy them.

Right? Wrong.

So in this article, I am going to talk about a scam that is happening on Instagram, random Instagram accounts will message you telling they can grow your following on Instagram in return for some money.

Most of the time these accounts will be fake, created specifically for sending messages and promoting the Shady businesses of growing followers on Instagram.

And in the name of followers, what you will get, is, thousands of bots following you, which are of no use.

There are also few cases, where the people operating these accounts will simply take your money and run away, they won’t even care about sending bots to follow you.

This happens worldwide, in every country. Let me talk about one such scam that is happening on Instagram in India.

It’s not just random Instagram accounts involved, there are Instagram accounts with a huge number of following, even a million in some cases.

What they do is, post story promoting their offer because something like this

The take the conversation further to another platform, which is WhatsApp then chat with you to build a trust so that you believe in what they are selling.

In most of the cases, they use PayTM, which is India’s most used Digital Wallet.

After you make the Payment, these people stop replying to the messages.

Even if you go ahead and report it to PayTM, you would only be able to block their PayTM account, but its impossible to get your money back since PayTM will say the money has already been consumed.

To get further information about where the money has been withdrawn, you will need to file an FIR, we all know how tough it is to actually file an FIR in India.

90% of the people who get scammed won’t take the pain of going to the Police Station and file an FIR.

And even if you are able to file an FIR, and send it to PayTM, they will only tell you where the money was withdrawn from their service, and scammers use multiple channels to get the money, the more the channel, the tougher it gets to find where the money actually went.

So, it’s better to stay away from such scams, as they say, Prevention is better than cure.

Always keep this thing in mind,

“If an offer seems too good to be true, it isn’t true.”

Now, this rule applies everywhere, if you see offers where something is sold for too cheap, someone is offering something for way lesser amount, it is shady, and you should not pay the person.

There are some trustworthy websites that can be used for buying products online, e are Amazon, or Banggood, Gearbeast etc that have earned a good reputation for selling quality products and not scamming people.

I hope you find this article useful, please do share it on Facebook or Twitter so that other too don’t fall prey to such scams.

It has features which can save up to 40 data when you are browsing websites, so if you browse a lot of websites basis you must install the Opera app.

Change this Setting in Instagram

If you are an Instagram user, you can make small change settings so that Instagram takes less data, I had mentioned this trick, in my article of Instagram tips and tricks, so here it goes
